Rev. Amanda Groves was ordained as a minister of the Christian Church-Disciples of Chist in October of 2021. She received her Master of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary, Master of Vocal Performance from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, and her Bachelor of Music Education from Murray State University. She is thrilled that God has called her to a ministry that incorporates her love of people, teaching, and music so that she can use her spiritual gifts to the fullest.

Rev. Amanda is passionate about our denomination’s proclamation of being a “MOVEMENT OF WHOLENESS in a fragmented world.” She serves on the general board of our church and is a member of the Commission on the Order of Ministry (COM) committee for the Illinois/Wisconsin region. She is also actively taking part in the Narrative and Proclamation Projects, which are important components of the revisioning/discernment process of our denomination for the future.

She is married to J.W. Groves who is also a musician and enjoys performing with him at community events and church. They live in South Marshall (Olive) KY with their beagle, Pretzel.

Rev. Amanda is dedicated to sharing the love of God’s Kindom and the good news of Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord and Savior with our church and with the community. She welcomes all questions and loves conversation about imagining the limitless possibilities of GOD’S LOVE!
