About Us
The First Christian Church of Du Quoin, Illinois, a congregationally governed body, was established on October 23, 1857. Our historical building was erected in 1925 with beautiful stained glass and accents.
WHAT WE BELIEVE:
As Members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and we proclaim Him as Lord and Savior of the world; in His name and by His Grace we accept our Mission of witness and service to Mankind.
We rejoice in God, our Father, Maker of heaven and earth, and in the covenant of love by which He has bound us to Himself.
In the fellowship and communion of the Holy Spirit we are joined to one another in brotherhood and in our obedience to Christ.
In Baptism we enter into newness of life and are made one with the body of Christ.
At the Table of the Lord we show forth His saving acts in our midst. Within the Church and in the light of Scripture, we receive the gift of Ministry.
In the bonds of Christian faith we offer ourselves to God, that within the universal Church we may be yielded to God whose Kingdom has no end.
Blessing, glory and honor be to God forever. Amen.
Our Mission:
Preparing God’s people on Christ for mature service through loving God, neighbor, and self.
